Meet Phil Edwards. The Carpenter.

My introduction to carpentry began when I left school, though at the time, I had no real understanding of what it involved. It all started with building skate ramps from scrap wood I found around the estate where I lived. Borrowing my dad’s old drills, I experimented with the best ways to join and secure pieces of wood, aiming to launch myself off the ramps with as few injuries as possible.

Fast forward to today, and my career in carpentry has unlocked a passion for construction that I never knew I had. Working with my hands and using a variety of tools has only deepened this passion. I took to social media to share with others - especially those new to the construction industry - how rewarding the process can be. Carpentry not only fuels my drive but also keeps me grounded.

It has had such a positive impact on my life, and no job feels too big or too small. I strive for perfection and always take the time to share my knowledge with those willing to learn. Carpentry is such a diverse and ever-expanding trade, and sometimes, all it takes is the excitement of building something with your own hands to ignite that spark.
When you’re working in construction you need to look after yourself, so having the right safety footwear and comfortable workwear is essential. For me I really like the Hard Yakka style, its very relaxed and comfortable. And what’s great is that it also looks good when you’re at a gig in the mosh pit too!
